Hi Debbie and Trever,
This is ARGO.
See my sister in the background. I've worn her out!  Awe, come on, can't I stay here a little while?
I was so happy yesterday when you guys and my big step brother Freedom came to visit me and my new big sister MERAK and my new dad and mom and let's not forget my little sister SOFIA and visiting cousing TYRA.
I knew that you would give in.  This is my mom and my sister Merak.
Here are some photos that you may be able to include in the happy tails section.
My dad tried twice and he was not able (may be he was typing in italian).

Thank you again for coming,
Argo Vairo

Hi Debbie & Trever

I just want to give you a quick update on Lexi. She is 45 lbs. now and just loves to be a lap dog.

Lexi is very smart & sweet and has a lot of spunk. She is doing well with her potty training, already knows how to sit and of course knows right where the cookies are.

Sasha and Lexi and buds now and they play together all the time. Sasha tries to act like Lexi is pestering her, but I catch her giving Lexi kisses when she doesn't think I'm looking. She is a wonderful addition to our family and we just love her to pieces. Thanks so much for all you do for these wonderful animals. She's getting so big!

Rebecca K. Green-Henry

Hi Debra,
I hope you and Trever and all the dogs had a Merry Christmas. We wanted to update your on Jake and send you some pictures. We can't tell you how much we love having Jake in our family. It seems like we have had him forever, even though its only been a few months. He just fit right in with very little adjustment on anyone's part.
I'm staying right here until Santa shows up.  Wait, I think that might be him.
He is an amazing dog, so sweet, so smart and of course, so stubborn. He and our black Lab, Kate, have become best buddies. They play constantly. He lets her "win" and be in charge since she's been here longer, even though she's smaller. She is 9, but has resumed a lot of puppy like behavior since being around him. He's just great for her. He wants to make friends with any other dogs we meet and just loves everyone.
This is my girl, Kate.  And this is my dad.
We have lots of fun with him too. When we go for walks, he takes Kate's leash in his mouth and tries to walk her. He loves to play tug-of-war. Socks are his favorite thing, so we have quite a collection of "Jake socks", and he loves his squeeky toys and stuffed animals. He has learned to sit and stay, my son has taught him to give the "Jake Shake", and we're working on "come", although he's not crazy about that one.
I'll do anything for that green toy. Watch this, I can even do the Charleston.
Thank you so much for letting us adopt him. Even though we are farther away than you'd like, please know that he has a home full of people that love him. You are doing wonderful work with these amazing animals.

Sincerely,
Richard and Rebecca Buckner

"Abbie's forever home"

It is with great joy that we have Abbie in our home. She has been a blessing to us. I first saw Abbie and Roxie her sister on line as adoptable pets. At first glance I thought this must be a mistake, because these puppies were so beautiful. I called my husband Stacey into the room to see. I had been looking for a kitten for months. So it was a suprise to him when I told him, his puppy was on line. He got up from the other room and looked to see what I was talking about and there she was "Our Abbie". Abbie is the pup on the right ..
Aren't we soooo cute!
We filled out the application that night and started talking with Debbie on line. We were afraid since we didn't have a fenced in yard that we may not qualify. "But God" We drove from Patterson to Marrero shortly after where we met both Abbie and Roxie, it was so hard to pick one, we really would have like to take both of them home with us. We sat on the floor .. hugging and loving on both of the pups .. Abbie actually picked us. We wanted to take her home with us that day .. the puppies had been sick that morning. We hated leaving our new baby girl. Debbie called us later that day to say that she would bring Abbie to us the next day..We were so excited! We went to pet smart and bought all the stuff for our new baby girl. Debbie arrived with Abbie .. to her "Forever Home"
Our Sweet AbbieLoved by her new Mommie Is he spoiled or whatAnd her new Daddy
How long do I have to sit here before you give me a treat?Abbie found some toys....I believe that she felt right at home from the beginning .. She has been such a good girl .. You can see she is quite spoiled
I'm so glad that they realize that this is my sofa  Here kitty, kitty, kitty
and truly is a part of our family ..Abbie now has two sisters .
The dog is calling us again  I don't care. If she wants me she will have to come over here
This is Ester..................and..................this is Grace

They actually all get along .. Abbie loves to chase them .. and they love to play hide and seek with Abbie .. Grace loves to eat with Abbie..Grace loves to eat .. so when anybody eats .. she is the first to go try sneak a taste .. These Pets have sure made our lives more interesting .. we wouldn't know what to do without them .. We love them all .. Abbie has brough us all together as a True Family .. We want to thank Debbie for saving Abbie ... Love Stacey & Lisa Fryar ...
What a lifeIt is very comfortable living here I think I'll stayThank you Debbie ................................................................................I'll think stay!

UPDATE!
A letter received from Abbie on January 8, 2006.

Hello,

My name is Abbie dodo .. I was rescued by my family from solorrottweilerrescue.com site in Marrero, Louisiana June 2004 .. I have a sister out there somewhere in Louisiana, name Roxie .. She is almost as pretty as me. We were born in a shelter to a Bull mastiff mother, we are unsure what our father was .. we were told he might be Rottweiler, although we do have some ridgeback markings. We have tried to find out just what we are.. but no breed claims us. But that is ok.. because my family claims me .. as their very own daughter no matter what breed I am supposed to be. Last year my family moved us to Florida, and we have a nice home by a lake, with lots of nice ducks. I do not get to swim with the ducks, and if I am real still they will walk right up to me but when I move they fly away. I love to play with my daddy .. he throws things and I bring them back to him.. eventually he gets tired, I could run all day. My mommie she lets me sit and watch her on her computer.. where she could talk with her fingers all day. I think she does that so I can not hear what she is saying. Although I am pretty smart .. I read her letters sometimes, when she thinks I am not looking.

Hello Debbi,

Just wanted to drop you a note. Nyla has been great, she did not like the collar. She figured out how to untie the shoe string that I had on it. (She is just too smart!) She did very well though she managed to keep most of the staples in. I made an appointment with Patsy to bring her in this afternoon when I get off of work. She will get the rest of the staples out and get the rest of her shots and heartworm prevention shot. The kids are done with ball for this season anyway. Every one at the playground was upset that they will not be seeing her for a while. I am going to try and get my sister to take a picture of us this weekend. As soon as I get some I will forward them to you. Nyla is so beautiful, loving and sweet. She is just a real jewel. We can not tell you how much we love her. . Of course we love to spoil her. She has learned to jump on the sofa and she likes to drag her blanket, toys and pillow around. She is getting big.

Thank you again,

Cheri M. Henderson

Debbie,

Sorry it took me so long to send you more pictures of Nyla. She is doing so well. She is as spoiled as my two children.

We just love her so much. I will get some pictures of the whole family with her soon. Hope that you had a wonderful Christmas and Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Cheri

I love my mom and my sister, but I sure have my dad wrapped around my paw! P.S. Don't tell him. I let him believe that he has me trained.
Hey Debbie,

I know you have waited forever for this, sorry it took so long.

We picked up Mya, Queen at the time, from Houma on January 31st. She came right up to all of us no hesitations at all. I loved her the moment I saw her. My daughter only liked her at the time because she thought she could never love another rottie the way she did our others that we had. But the real test was my husband.

Female dogs NEVER liked my husband and he did not care too much for them either. He had always been around females who seemed “lazy” and temperamental to him.

He liked males with big heads and thought they were more intelligent than females.

I am happy to report that Mya loves her new home and adores my two sons and my daughter. My daughter loves her now and she sometimes sleeps with her. My youngest son did not want another dog because he loved our other dogs so much that he did not want to get close to another one. You can’t get him out of her face now. He calls her “Baby Mya”. My oldest son is her wrestling partner.

Remember what I told you about my husband? Well needless to say she is now his shadow. She loves her new Daddy and that is HIS dog. Our other dogs were taught not to get on the couch and never allowed in our bed. Guess who gets to do both? That’s right “Queen” Mya!!!! He spoils her.

She is extremely smart. She was house broken in a day and a half. She can track the scent of any of her toys and find them when you hide them. She knew all of the basic obedient commands within a few days.

I love coming home from work and she gives me kisses and lets me know that she missed me.

She is so full of love and energy. I am so thankful that we were able to get her.

Thanks Debbie for calling and introducing her to us and allowing us to add her to our family.

Hey dad, come here. It's time for your training class.

Oh, so this is what a loving forever home is supposed to be like.
Well, as you can see, after only one short week here at my new home, I’ve laid down some ground rules. I must admit my new people are training quite well.

I like it here, there are other furbabies to play with, and the food is good. I take Mom for a walk around the block most evenings, she needs the exercise you know. I met the family vet and really liked him and his staff, they got down on the floor and played with me. And I got to go to Mom’s office, lots of people came out to pet me, I do love attention. And I like treats, lots of treats, and I love to play ball. Dad takes me outside all by myself and we play ball, did I mention I love attention.

Mom is talking about obedience school, I’m not too sure about all that but Hope says it’s fun, and I’ll get lots of treats and attention. Did I mention I love treats and attention?

To my other Mom and Dad, thanks for sending me here to my forever home, I love it here, and my new people really love me, and the other furbabies are great. I’ll write more after we start that obedience school and let you know what I think of it.

For now,
Love, Chewy (a/k/a Big Foot, Goliath and Momma’s Gentle Giant)

Hey Deb,

Here's a new pic for you. I had a hard time getting him to stand up, he kept looking at me like "but Mom you don't usually want me to stand up on you!" but he's usually pretty gentle when he does.

Took him to vet a couple of weeks ago, he weighed in at 98 pounds, I'm sure he's over 100 by now. He's doing great, filling out well, for awhile there he was just growing taller and he looked thin. Still full of puppy, loves to play, digging up the back yard and would eat all day if he could.

We just love him, love him, love him!

Hope you and Trever are doing well, along with all your herd.

God Bless,

Connie
Lets do the tango now mom!

2 Year Old Male
Old English Sheepdog

I think my dad loves me!  Love that coffee!
Hey you two:

Well, things are going very good with Raj. He has become a favorite in our neighborhood and the kids love him because he is so playful and gentle with them. And of course, he is very good with other dogs, so he gets to hang out with Retrievers, one other sheepdog--a female, two Dobermans, etc.

We generally go for two walks a day--one early morning--5am or so--and then a run in the early evening around 7pm or so. He get about four miles worth of walking and running in. He has also become quite popular at the local coffee I go to..lots of cute girls love him, and of course, me! (he,he, he).

He seems to be adjusting well to the environment and to his new home. He is getting better about being at home two days a week, but I have been having a next door neighbor come and let him out for bathroom once a day when I am gone, so he is getting attention when I'm not there. I guess he still cries though when I'm not around. He always want to ride in the car, but I always can't take him everyplace I go.

He's also not very good about staying in the back and always jumps up front--we're working on this one though. We start obedience training on Monday Sept. 15th through the local 4-H group--we'll be training one day a week for two hours for 8 weeks. He's very good with "sit" and "lie down" but he doesn't get "stay" yet...he follows me around everywhere--bathroom, study, bedroom, etc. He'll have to develop a sense of independence over time, which is par for the course. He sleeps with me everynight on my bed and he is generally very protective of me--any small sounds and he is up and barking--usually someone just walking by.

He loves chasing squirrels and we have a near-by park where he chases them to his heart's content. He's not very interested in playing ball, though I'm trying to change that considering I play soccer. I still have to teach him Frisbee too...though I think that will also come with time.

Other than that, he is wonderful, very very well-behaved, and has such an intelligent and quality demeanor. Just like my previous sheepie Vlad, everyone says Raj is like a little person in a dog suit...go figure. He is so loveable!!

That's what's going on here Trever and Debra. Here are some pictures from yesterday. Hope your collection is growing.

My best to you two.

Comin' for din-din.  Hey dad!
Hi Debbie and Trever:

It's been awhile since I've written and I apologize. Here are pics. of Raj in his (possibly) first snow fall.
We got about 6 inches yesterday and these pictures are from today. I hope you like them.
I think I'm lost! Everything looks the same!  Which way do I go?
His hair is getting nice and longer and he is starting to look like a bonafide 'shaggy dog.' He is going to be groomed up nice for the Holidays and we will be making the rounds along the east coast--NYC, Boston, Albany, and then down to Atlanta. He's pretty popular around here and the girls love him (that's good for me!).
I think I found my way home!  Yes, this is it. There's my dad now!
I hope you guys are well and enjoying the holiday season.
I'm so lucky (and handsome too)!
My best to you two.

Scruffy
3 month old male
Chihuahua/Terrier/Poodle Mix
ADOPTED 8/4/03
Hey sis, where's that bunny?  This would have been the perfect picture if that darn bunny would have smiled.
Scruffy is such a sweet boy. He likes to gives us lots of kisses and chase the frogs outside and try to play with our other dog- a grumpy 6 yr old beagle. I hope he is as happy here as we are to have him, because this dog deserves it. If one dog deserved a second chance, then Scruffy is it. I love Scruffy and hope to have him around for many, many years. He is a little over 12 lbs now at about 4 1/2 months of age.

Me and my buddy.  And this is my other buddy.

Andre has been adopted to a wonderful, loving & forever home.
We can't seem to get his new family to write us a happy ending, so the pictures will have to speak for themselves.
